Visibility
For this new build, we've focused on in-game visibility! Lots of small improvements have been made to help you better understand what's on your screen.
VFX
Some abilities cause states like burn, mastery, confusion, or hinder. The VFX for these states were too visually cluttered and didn't really help understand what was happening on screen.
We've thought about a way to circumvent this issue. Instead of having a visual effect overlay that, when combined, creates a pixel mess, we figured it would be more clever and intuitive for players to have a visual directly on the creatures that adds to their model. Here's a before/after of the Mastery rework on several creatures in the game to illustrate.
Before the rework
Health Bar
Until now, health bars were displayed as soon as the creature took damage. From now on, when a creature is attacked, its health bar appears, and if it doesn't take damage for 5 seconds, the bar shrinks. If, in the meantime, it's fully healed (shield included), then the health bar disappears. This is to avoid having too many active health bars at the same time. We've also introduced a new color palette for enemies to make them easier to distinguish from our own.
New Enemy Creature Behavior
From now on, when an enemy creature approaches one of your cauldrons, it won't continuously attack it, but instead steal a portion of your Mawa and disappear with the blissful smile of a job well done. Watch out for your cauldrons!
New Exploration Scene
We've revamped the exploration scene to make progression through the archipelago easier, featuring a new biome, Marinette's. We invite you to discover it!
Grand Cuisine
We've taken the time to give some love to our Grand Cuisine
. We have implemented a new way to navigate within it. This navigation hints at a deeper improvement for the Grand Cuisine that will come in the next build! But until then, you can finally see the first work on the grand book and learn a bit more about its purpose.
We've also created a new offering display that will help to read the number of offerings needed to evolve the chosen invocation.
