Hello everyone!
The messenger is here with a brand-new version just for you! And believe me, we have a lot of exciting news to share. But before diving into all of that, we’d like to remind you to join us on our Discord server to give us your feedback!
Wave System Added!
Thanks to the many valuable feedbacks we received (and a big thank you to everyone who took the time to test our demo and share their thoughts on Discord), we’ve come up with a fresh idea to make your explorations even more dynamic and aligned with our vision of a Reverse Tower-Defense.
From now on, an archipelago will be conquered over several waves. Each wave ends when you have no more creatures in play and no more cards in hand, whether because you’ve sold them or summoned them to help your waves progress across the islands. Before each wave, you’ll enter a strategic phase where you can plan your actions based on your remaining energy and the towers and guardians you need to defeat.
We’ve also revamped the summoning system. Now, whether you’ve selected 5, 10, or 20 creatures, they’ll all appear at once when the wave begins.
Additionally, we’ve implemented a portal system at the borders conquered in previous waves. These portals allow your creatures to shorten their travel time, letting them re-enter the battlefield much faster from the cauldrons they emerge from.
Feel free to share your thoughts on this new feature! Your feedback is essential to help us refine and make this system even more enjoyable to play.
Aesthetic Glow-Up
We’ve long been aware of the aesthetic issues with our UI and KeyArts, but that’s all in the past now! We’ve given the entire UI the glow-up it deserved and resolved the technical issues that were preventing our illustrations from looking as beautiful as they should have.
Expect a much more visually appealing game, with detailed illustrations of our Loas and summons to admire! We’ve also taken this overhaul as an opportunity to add extra feel and juice to make your interactions more enjoyable and meaningful.
New Biome: Forest
We’re introducing a second biome! After the city, which represents Papa Legba and Marinette, it’s time to dive into the Forest Archipelagos of Gran Bwa and Ayida Wedo. This new biome brings fresh challenges, with more biomes to come, each offering new ways to face adversity!
This new biome also marks the foundation of our procedural system, which we’re excited to share more about in future updates.
We’ve also taken the time to enhance the visuals of our existing biomes, improving your overall gameplay experience.
Demo Limitations Reminder
A quick reminder of the current limitations in our demo:
- Loas cannot level up beyond level 4
- Creatures cannot level up beyond level 4 either
- It’s not yet possible to upgrade spells and ingredients in the Great Kitchen
